Obituary

William James "Billy" Skoog, of Franklin, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, surrounded by family.

Billy was born on June 15, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York. He lived his early years in New Jersey before moving to New Hampshire in 1969.

For nearly 50 years, his heart belonged to his first love, Davida Skoog, of Andover, New Hampshire. After a lifetime of shared memories, she remained by his side until his time came.

Billy is also survived by their four children and their spouses: daughter Shannon and Jason Carter, son Daniel Skoog, son Nathaniel and Merri Skoog, and daughter Patience Taylor; his siblings, Elizabeth Skoog and Donald Smith, and Robert and Jane Skoog; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews.

His parents Eleanor Legge and Harry Skoog, and brother, Stephen Skoog preceded him.

Billy lived a life rooted in simple pleasures and love for his family. He was happiest sitting on the big rock at Profile Falls with his family close by.

He loved "talking shop," swapping stories, and delving into family history, ensuring the roots and legacy of his ancestors were passed down. On quieter evenings, you could usually find him unwinding with a classic old movie or jamming out to his favorite tunes.

As he always wished, there will be a party in his honor at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Franklin VNA & Hospice, 75 Chestnut St., Franklin, NH 03234.
