William Harold Mccain Sr.

Franklin William H. McCain Sr. William H. McCain Sr., 75, a resident of Franklin died at the Pleasant View Center in Concord following a short period of failing health. He was born in Springfield, MA, June 23, 1938, son of the late Harold and Eleanor (Shackett) McCain. Bill spent his youth in Springfield and was a graduate of West Springfield High School. Prior to moving to Franklin he had been a longtime resident of Northfield, NH. A commercial painter by trade Bill worked for many years at Bradleys and Shop' n Save. Bill served for several years with the Massachusetts National Guard. He was a longtime member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks, BPOE, # 1280. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth H. (Kelleher) McCain in 1995. His family includes, Sons, William H. McCain Jr. of Tennessee Timothy F. McCain and his wife Deirdre of Tilton Daughter, Judith L. LaPlante of Auburn, Massachusetts Four grandchildren Brothers, Richard McCain of Holderness and Robert McCain of North Hadley, MA His close friend, Laurie Hale of Franklin According to his wishes, there are no calling hours planned. A private graveside service will be held at Park Cemetery in Tilton. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton.
