Wilbur W. Ball Jr.

Tilton Wilbur W. Ball Jr. Wilbur W. Ball Jr, 83, a longtime resident of Tilton died at his home, Tuesday, March 17, 2015 following a sudden illness. He was born in Jefferson, August 17, 1931, son of the late, Wilbur W. Ball Sr. and Dorothy L. (Woodward) Ball. Wilbur spent his youth and grew up in Lancaster, NH. He had been a resident of Tilton for 60 years. He was employed for many years at the Laconia Needle Shop in Laconia until its closure and later retired, following several years as a truck driver for Pike Industries. Wilbur was very involved with tractors and was a member of several tractor pulling clubs and associations. He and his wife were active members of the Southern Maine Tractor Club in Lebanon, ME. Wilbur served with the U. S. Air Force from June 28, 1950 to September 3, 1953, honorably discharged with the rank of Airman 3rd Class. He was a member of the American Legion Post #49 in Northfield. Wilbur was predeceased by a son, David W. Ball, a daughter, Juanita M. Ball and his wife, Marie (Ouellette) Ball who died in 2014. his family includes: his son, Ernest C. Ball of Northfield grandchildren, Amy Davis of Franklin, Dawn Cloutier of Tilton, Lisa Neumen of MN, Christine Butler of IN, Jonathan Baty of MN, Michael Ball of Alton and Jessica Stanley of Belmont. great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Brenden, Kyle, Joshua, Mackenzie, Emily, Sam, Isaiah, Sarah, Natasha, Oliviah, Tabithah, Alyssa, Alexandra, Paige and one on the way. his brother, Harlie E. Ball of Franklin and sister, Clara May Gregory of Whitefield. According to his wishes, there are no calling hours or local services planned. Burial will be later in the spring in the family lot in Guildhall, VT. Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton.
