Wayne Stephen Elliott

Sanbornton Wayne Stephen Elliott Wayne S. Elliott, 68, a lifelong resident of Sanbornton, died Sunday, November 2, 2014 following a period of failing health. Wayne was born in Laconia, April 16, 1946. He attended Sanbornton Central School and later graduated in 1964 from the Tilton-Northfield High School. He went on to study Agriculture at the University of New Hampshire. He became a heavy equipment operator after working several years on the Hersey Family Farm. Wayne worked with the Sanbornton Highway Department and Gilford Highway Department. He was a member of the Sanbornton Fire Department as a firefighter and EMT for 29 years. He was a member of The Harmony Grange and also was a Boy Scout Leader. He was a member of several Sanbornton Committees including the Housing Advisory Committee, Library Trustee, Planning Board, Recreation Committee, Budget Committee, Community Action Program, Highway Safety Committee, Zoning Board, Capital Improvement Committee and Emergency Management Committee. He was a member of the Conservation Commission and was honored by the commission by naming a trail, �The Wayne Elliott Trail.� Wayne was a devout member of the First Baptist Church of Sanbornton, serving as trustee. His family includes his wife since July 10, 1970, Dolores �Dolly� (McLaughlin) Elliott of Sanbornton Daughter, Cindy Elliott and her husband Wayne Bourgeois of Killarney, Canada, a son, Chad Elliott of Northfield, grandchildren, Kaite Elliott, Kenna Elliott and Levi Weeks, a great-granddaughter, Isabelle Weeks In following his wishes, no calling hours are planned. A service will be held, Friday, November 28, 2014 at 11:00 A. M. at the First Baptist Church, Route 127 in Sanbornton with a private burial in the Sanbornton Public Cemetery, upper Tower Hill. The William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton is assisting the Elliott family. Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Wayne�s name to First Baptist Church Camp Sentinel Fund.
