Stephen L. Ryan

Franklin Stephen L. Ryan Stephen L. Ryan, 70, a longtime resident of Franklin, died suddenly at his home on April 10, 2015, following a period of failing health. Stephen was born on November 24, 1944 in Mineola, Long Island, NY, the son of Lawrence L. and Grace (Barrett) Ryan. Having spent his youth in Chatham, NY he attended Central High School there. He has been a resident of Franklin since 1990. Stephen was a U. S. Army veteran , serving from 1962 to 1964 as a sharpshooter. He enjoyed animals. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Grace and brother, Michael Ryan. His family includes: His three sons: Stephen Ryan of North Carolina Shawn Ryan of Hudson, New York Robert Ryan of Hudson, New York Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild his sister: Katherine A. Ryan of Wells, ME Susan R. Knowlton of Northfield His brother: Lawrence B. Ryan of Kennebunk, ME Many nieces and nephews According to Stephen's wishes there are no calling hours, a graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 1:00PM in St. John Cemetery in Tilton, NH. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Tilton, NH.
