Northfield--- Roland J. Dubord, 86 of Northfield passed away peacefully and went to meet the Lord on Monday, September 9, 2024, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Roland was born on April 1, 1938, in St. Evariste, Quebec, Canada to the late Odilon and Germaine (Beaudry) Dubord.
Roland cherished his family, particularly his grandchildren and spending time at family gatherings, including BBQ’s, museum trips, and car rides. One of his all-time favorite past times was watching wrestling. He also enjoyed watching bowling, hockey, and the tv show Walker Texas Ranger which starred his idol, Chuck Norris.
Roland loved listening to country music, especially George Jones, whom he was able to see live in concert. He loved carpentry and good Chevy pickup trucks.
Roland had a sweet smile and a friendly personality and easily made friends everywhere he went. He had simple messages that he taught us in difficult times: “Just pray, God will help you… and work all together”. He loved attending church suppers, greeting everyone with his genuine smile, radiant joy and helping anyone who needed a helping hand anytime.
Roland reminded us how important it was to eat healthy and exercise “just like Chuck Norris would say.
He always had great strength and determination. He worked at various laborer and factory jobs and said that he was not giving up. He later went to work part time as a school crossing guard for Winnisquam Elementary School.
Roland, is survived by his three children, Anne Beaulieu of Augusta, ME and her daughter, Kayleigh Davis and her husband, Joshua and their sons; Evan and Isaac; Denise Dubord and her fiancé, Louis Ottati of Northfield and his children, Jessica Cushing and Tony Ottati; Roland “Dennis” Dubord and his wife, Cheryl and their three children, Corbin, Cameron, and Caroline of Northfield; a sister-in-law, Bernice “Bea” Dow of Northfield; a cousin, Hermel Fortier and his wife, Denyse of Loudon and their children, Nathalie, Vicky, and Dave. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his former wife, Louise (Day) Dubord; his sister, Murielle Dubord of La Guadeloupe (a small village where Roland grew up).
The family would like to thank the staff of Franklin Hospital, Concord Hospital Laconia, and Granite VNA Hospice House.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. He will be missed by many.
