Tilton Roland Paul Cate Roland Paul Cate, 87, a longtime resident of Tilton died at his home, Monday, November 21st, 2016 following a sudden illness. Roland was born in Franklin, March 24, 1929, son of Maurice and Sadie (Marston) Cate. He spent several years in Gerrish, later moving to Franklin, living there until moving to Tilton where he resided for 15 years. He retired at the age of 65 following 35 years as a machinist at Webster Valve Company in Franklin. He enjoyed the outdoors and for several years spent time�hunting and fishing. Roland was a U.S. Army Veteran�of WWII. He was predeceased by brothers, Howard and Robert Cate. He leaves a brother, Arthur Cate and his wife Jean of Concord; A sister, Natalie D. Deshaies-Harvey of Franklin Nephews, Robert Cate of Nashua and Brian Cate of Alabama Nieces, Patricia Ward of Ohio and Linda Hutchins of Northfield; Longtime family member, Winnona (Winnie) M. Gilbert of Franklin. A calling hour will be held Friday, November 25, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 A. M. at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main St.) in Tilton with a service to follow at 11:00. Burial will follow in Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord. Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Roland's name to the Franklin VNA and Hospice, 75 Chestnut St., in Franklin. 03235.
