Northfield Robert Charles Phillips Sr. Longtime Pastor Robert C. Phillips Sr., 77, a resident of Northfield for 28 years died Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Franklin Regional Hospital after being stricken ill at his home.�Pastor Phillips was born in Rumford, ME, October 4, 1936, son of John and Helen (Archibald) Phillips.�He spent many years in Gilmanton and lived a short time in Lakeport prior to his move to Northfield.�He was employed at the Arwood Corporation in�Northfield for several years and for a time was employed at the Spaulding Youth Center in Northfield.�He served as pastor at the Evangelical Church in Gilmanton, Union Church in Northfield and the Lochmere Baptist Church.�He and his wife were longtime adult foster caregivers at their home.�He served his country from 1955 until 1959 with the U. S. Navy. His family includes, His wife of 51 years, Ethelyn (Wing) Phillips of Northfield Sons, John E. Phillips of Northfield Robert C. Phillips Jr. of Derry Daughters,�Patricia L. DeBow of Parkton, MD Tina M. Smith of Northfield Judith A. Burdick of Hill Rebekah J. Soucy of Manchester Melissa H. Colangeli Plymouth 14 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren Brother, Robert Robinson Falmouth, ME Sister, Beverly Robinson Fryeburg, ME Nieces and nephews Calling hours will be Thursday, March 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road in Tilton. A funeral service will be held the following day, Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the Hope Community Chapel, Hill Road in Franklin.�A brief committal prayer with military honors will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Chapel, 110 D.
