Robert Allen McNamara, a cherished resident of Tilton, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on July 2nd, 1945, in Norwood, MA, Robert, known affectionately as Bob, lived a life full of warmth, adventure, and devotion to his family and friends.
Bob was the beloved husband of Deborah L. (Braley) McNamara, with whom he shared many joyful years in Tilton and Saudia Arabia. He is also survived by his children, Kevin and his wife Patti McNamara of Jordan, MN, Kerry McNamara of Ossipee, and Kristopher and his wife Renee McNamara of Sanbornton; stepsons Scott Perreault of Franklin, Stephen Perreault of Gilford, and Shawn Daley of Sanbornton. His legacy continues with his cherished grandchildren, Erin and her husband Dylan Martel, Bryanna McNamara, Hallie McNamara, Kelly McNamara, and Scott McNamara, along with step-grandchildren, Dakota Perreault and Tinashe Perreault.
He is fondly remembered by his brother, Richard McNamara of Belmont, and sister, Judith Hebblewaite of Belmont, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas F. McNamara Jr. and Blanche (Jenkins) McNamara, and his brother, David McNamara.
Bob graduated with a degree in Business from Fisher Junior College in Boston, MA, and went on to dedicate his career as an X-Ray Technician with PCC Structurals. He also proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy.
Those who knew Bob remember him for his love of camping, crafting beautiful Christmas wreaths, and attending family reunions. He spent countless cherished hours with his grandchildren and his brothers and was passionate about beekeeping and making maple syrup. An avid traveler, Bob formed lasting friendships during his time living in Saudi Arabia and fondly recalled his adventures, particularly his visits to the tranquil waters of St. Johns. He often started his days with a good cup of coffee, sharing his mornings with his beloved pets over the years.
Visitation will be held at Smart Memorial Home, 584 West Main St. Tilton, NH, on Sunday, November 24th, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at the same location on Monday, November 25th, 2024, at 12:30 pm, with a graveside service at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
