Franklin Richard G. Tuck Richard G. Tuck, 80, a longtime resident of Franklin died suddenly, Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Concord Hospital in Concord following a period of failing health. Dick, as most knew him by, was born in Franklin, February, 19, 1936, son of the late, Robert M. Tuck and Antoinette G. (Dussault) Tuck. He spent his youth and schooled in Franklin, graduating from Franklin High School, class of 1954. Dick enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps serving from 1954 until 1958. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant and transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve in Portsmouth. Dick retired from the New Hampshire State Police and Department of Safety after 31 years of service. He retired as Executive Major in 1989. He served as Commanding Officer of the Field Operations Bureau and was Executive Officer at the time of his retirement. Following his retirement Dick worked as Department Director in�New Hampshire with Emergency Management for 10 years.�During his law enforcement career Dick attended St. Anselm�College and the University of Virginia to gain advancement in law�Enforcement, graduating from the FBI National Academy and�was the recipient of its Association Citation. He was honored�when he was appointed by a NH Governor as Chairman of the Traffic Safety Commission.�Dick was a member of various Retired Trooper Associations and�was a member of the NH Association of Retired Law Enforcement�Officers and NH State Police Benevolent Association.He was a life member of the NH Police Squad Club. A Mason, Dick was a longtime active member of the Doric Centre Lodge, # 20, F&A.M. in Tilton. He had held all Chairs in his Lodge, including Master for 2 years and active with the Grand Lodge. While wintering in Florida he became active with the Port Charlotte, FL Moose Lodge # 2121. Dick leaves his wife of 27 years, Patricia A. (Richardson) Tuck of Franklin. Daughters, Deborah A. Bradley of North Woodstock and Caryn Rutherford of Glen His son, Richard G. Tuck II of Campton Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren Numerous cousins His step son, Paul Deguise of Amherst and Stepdaughter, Lisa Kessler of Colchester, CT Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main St.) in Tilton. A Masonic service will be held at 6:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held to celebrate Dick's life Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Church of St. Gabriel Parish, School St. in Franklin. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin with military honors.
