Northfield – Richard Cullen Sr, 90, a longtime resident of Northfield, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Richard, also known as Dickie, was born on August 31,1933 in Franklin, NH to Ralph and Rose (Carignan) Cullen. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955 when he was honorably discharged. Upon his return home, Dickie worked at Pike Industries, Cullen Concrete and finished out his career at Wyman Gordan.
Every morning Dickie could be found drinking his coffee and reading his newspapers while sitting at Irving in Tilton. In his spare time, he could always be found puttering around the house, tinkering with lawn equipment in his barn and enjoying his property cutting wood and using his bulldozer. Caring for his grandchildren was one of his favorite past times. Richard was also a member of the American Legion Post 49 in Northfield.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Nancy (Page) Cullen; his children Elizabeth Medina and her husband, Emmanuel of Tilton; Richard Cullen, Jr and his wife Shannon of Laconia; Jason Cullen and his wife Rebekah of Belmont, step-daughter Deborah Hamlin of Florida; his grandchildren; Olivia and Meredyth Robillard, Richard and Kyle Cullen, Noah and Natalee Cullen; his brothers Ralph Cullen and his wife Reta, and Robert Cullen and his wife Marsha. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Roland Cullen, Raymond Cullen, Vivian Cullen, and his stepson Kenneth Hamlin.

A private burial will be held at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen at a later date.
