Peggy-Sue Greenwood

April 18, 1959 — November 23, 2025

Belmont

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Peggy-Sue Greenwood, a beloved aunt, sister, daughter and friend, whose beautiful soul left this Earth on November 23rd, 2025, at the age of 66.

Peggy-Sue was born on April 18, 1959, in Laconia, New Hampshire to Raymond and Margaret Greenwood. She was raised alongside her three siblings in Belmont, New Hampshire, and graduated from Belmont High School in 1977. Out of school she started her 43-year career working for the state of New Hampshire, in which she spent the most of that career working for the Bureau of Developmental Services. During her time working for the state, she was an advocate for helping families throughout New Hampshire through the Family Support Conference which she directed for over 25 years, making so many meaningful connections and friendships.

She was devoted to her family and friends and spent the majority of her life volunteering as a 4-H leader in Belknap County. Her love for family and friends was seconded only by her love horses, spending her life as an avid equestrian and teaching and guiding her nieces to be the strong women they are today.

Peggy-Sue was preceded in death by her loving mother, Margaret Greenwood and is survived by her father Raymond Greenwood, sister Susan Deavilla, brothers Clayton and Clifford Greenwood, nieces Karyne Rettke, Kimberly Maines, Emily and Amanda Greenwood and great nephew and niece Hunter and Margaret Rettke.

Peggy-Sue will always be remembered for her deep love of her family and friends, and for whose presence touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24th from 1-3 pm at the Smart Memorial Home located at 584 West Main Street in Tilton NH.
