Northfield Paul Laurier Bergeron Paul L. Bergeron, 65, a resident of Northfield for over 25 years, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Lakes Regional General Hospital in Laconia following an illness. Paul was born in Franklin, January 16, 1950, son of Joseph L.�and Pauline T.�(LaPlante) Bergeron.�He spent his youth in Franklin and graduated from Bishop Brady High School, class of 1968.�During high school he played football, track, and volunteered to help build the Franklin Veterans Memorial ski area. After high school he served in the Army on active duty as a soils analyst in the 249th Engineering Battalion stationed in Karlsruhe, Germany. Later, he continued to serve in the New Hampshire National Guard. In 1975 he graduated from Vermont Technical College, Randolph, VT, with�an�associate degree in�civil engineering technology. He graduated with high honors and received�the "Number One Man" award for being at the top of his class. While in college, Paul cultivated a hobby of refinishing and restoring�antique furniture. During his younger years, he also enjoyed hosting pig roast bashes, playing horse shoes, cards, cribbage, hunting,�and golf. When his daughters were growing-up, Paul enjoyed taking�them fishing and exploring nature on hikes. He also used his land in Sanbornton to practice marksmanship with his�youngest daughter.�Paul was employed with Pike Industries in NH�for over 25 years. He began his career in quality control and later became a Vice President. He was the founder of Ammonoosuc Asphalt Inc. in Bethlehem, NH and a co-owner for more than the past 10 years.�He was a member of the American Legion, Post # 49 in Northfield. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph. His family includes, Two daughters and sons-in-law, Bethany B. Fay and William M. Fay of Gilford Dr. Emily K. Farina and MAJ Andrew G. Farina, U.S. Army, of Whispering Pines, NC Three grandchildren, Alexandra E. Fay of Gilford Catherine E. Fay of Gilford Anderson G. Farina of Whispering Pines, NC His mother, Pauline (LaPlante) Bergeron of Summerville, SC Sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Kalasky and Thomas Kalasky of Severna Park, MD Jean Carignan and Reverend Dr. John Carignan of Summerville, SC Many nieces and nephews Calling hours will be held Monday, April 6, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road, (584 West Main St.) in Tilton, NH. A committal service with military honors will be held Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. in the chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen, NH. Burial will follow.
