PATRICIA ELIZABETH (MCELHINNEY) CASSIDY
January 16 1951-September 21 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Elizabeth Cassidy announce her passing after
a courageous 18 month battle with cancer.
A beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Born in Roxbury Massachusetts on January 16th
1951 she attended St Patrick's High School where she met her beloved husband Dennis F
Cassidy. They relocated to Franklin New Hampshire in the early seventies where they built a
beautiful life together and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Patricia worked
for the State of New Hampshire for 36 years where she made many lifelong friendships. She
graduated from Franklin Pierce College Cum Laude while working full time as a state tax
auditor. After retirement they spent their winters in Fort Myers Florida enjoying the sunshine and
meeting new friends. Patricia had a zest for life and filled her days at the pool with new friends,
playing cards with her husband, Thursday afternoon gatherings and enjoying all the events in
the club house.
Patricia is survived by her devoted husband Dennis F Cassidy and their cherished children
Dennis Cassidy (Emily Blonder) of Wenham Ma, JoAnn Cassidy (Richard Guthrie) of Milton Ma.
Her 5 adored grandchildren Grayson, Zoe, Nathaniel, Harrison and Ella, brother Thomas
McElhinney of Washington State, sister Mary Cregan of New Jersey and many beloved nieces
and nephews. Predeceased by her father Michael Joseph McElhinney, mother Anna (Fallon)
McElhinney, brother Michael McElhinney and sister Kathleen Mitchell.
As we mourn Patricia's departure, let us also celebrate her life and the countless moments of
joy and laughter she shared with us all.
