Neta A. (Whicher) Aldrich

Concord Neta A. (Whicher) Aldrich Neta A. Aldrich, 81, a longtime resident of Concord, died February 8, 2017 at the Concord Hospital following a period of failing health. Neta was born on June 26, 1935, daughter of Clarence Whicher and mother, Rosella �Rose� (Allard) Whicher. She lived in Franklin for several years before moving to Concord in 1960. She spent her youth in Tilton, was a graduate of Tilton High School and attended the University of New Hampshire. She and her late husband John were�very active in Special Olympics here in New Hampshire and were always there as volunteers supporting their daughter Karen and other members of the Olympics. Neta was an avid gardener, bird watcher, and she loved to cook. She especially enjoyed getting family and friends together for her annual�4th of July�picnic celebrating those she loved. She was a great Woman, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. In addition to her parents, Neta was predeceased by a brother, Stanley R. Whicher; son, John D. Aldrich; her husband, John H. Aldrich and her daughter, Karen J. Aldrich. She leaves, sons, Steven Aldrich and his wife, Leslie of Richmond, VA, Wayne Aldrich and his wife Susan of Loudon, David Aldrich and his wife, Janet of New Britain, CT. Grandchildren, Alex and Erik Aldrich, Courtney and her husband, Ian Jameson, and Great-grandchildren, Piper and Prudence Jameson. Brother, Neal J. Whicher. Sister-in-law, Anna Aldrich Stanley. Numerous nieces and nephews A calling hour will be held Saturday, February 11, 2016 from 12:00 to 1:00 P. M. with a service following at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main Street) in Tilton. Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Neta�s memory to the Special Olympic Team, "Capitol area Cougars",�650 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
