Michael P. Vastine

Sanbornton Michael P. Vastine Michael P. Vastine, 69, a longtime Lakes Region resident died peacefully in his sleep at his daughter�s home in Tilton, February 24, 2017 following a long period of failing health. He was a resident of Sanbornton at the time of his death. Michael moved from Connecticut to New Hampshire in 1977. He was born in Chicago , July 22, 1947, son of the late, Richard and Willa Mae (Buyers) Vastine. He spent his youth and schooled in Chicago and attended college in Lincoln, Nebraska. Michael retired as Flight Service Manager after 25 years employment with TWA. Holding a private pilot�s license, Michael had always hoped to be a commercial pilot. Following his retirement, Michael worked as night auditor at the Steele Hill Resort in Sanbornton since 1999. He leaves, a son Brian J. Vastine and Brian's son Andre of Sanbornton, daughters, Jessica A. Vastine of Tilton and Carolyn M. Casano, her husband, Jason and their son Roman of New York City. Also, the mother of his children, his former wife, Margarietha (Veken) Nesham and her husband Robert of Franklin. A Time of Reflection will be held, Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main St.) in Tilton. In lieu of flowers, Michael�s family suggests that memorial contributions in his name be made to the Sanbornton Fire Department and Rescue, P. O. Box 112, Sanbornton,�NH, 03269-0112.
