Northfield Maurice H. Dearborn Sr. Maurice "Moe" H. Dearborn Sr., 95, a lifelong resident of Northfield died, Monday, November 17, 2014 following a period of failing health. Maurice was born in Northfield, August 8, 1919, son of Fred and Alvinia (Doummonlin) Dearborn. He worked as a heliarc welder with the Arwood Corporation in Northfield, retiring after 27 years. Following his retirement there he worked as a auto parts courier for 23 years with AutoServ in Tilton. Maurice served honorably with the U. S. Army, Battery B, 762nd Field Artillery Battalion, serving from 1941 until 1945 with Campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal and European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. He was a member of the VFW, Post # 1698 in Franklin, Franklin Lodge of Elks, BPOE, #1280 and American Legion, Post # 49 in Northfield. Maurice enjoyed his many trips with his family to the ocean in Maine. He was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Tilton. Maurice was predeceased by his wife, Rita Y. (Cartier) Dearborn in 1990. His family includes, Two sons: Richard Dearborn and his wife Patricia of Dover Maurice H. Dearborn Jr. of Northfield Four grandchildren Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main St.) in Tilton. According to Maurice's wishes, private committal prayers with military honors will be held in Park Cemetery in Tilton. Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Maurice's name to the Disabled American Veterans, 31 Cross St., Nashua, NH 03064.
