Mary E. Renn
Born Mary Olive Edmunds in Shamokin, PA. After marrying in 1963, she moved to Massachusetts and then settled in New Hampshire in the late 1960s. Mary E. Renn was friendly, caring, and compassionate and was loved by so many. She was a tireless worker, juggling up to three jobs at a time while raising her children as a single mother. She moved to Northfield in 2000 and quickly made friends of all her neighbors, "adopting the family next door." Mary was an avid seamstress and carpenter; she was an accomplished baker and was endlessly imaginative. She loved all creative endeavors and often juggled multiple crafts and projects at one time. Mary loved all the holidays and looked for a reason to celebrate. She was passionate about animals, once allowing herself to be locked in an animal shelter kennel as a fundraiser and then returning home with an adopted geriatric dog in heart failure! Mary fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse at the age of 60 and worked in several area nursing homes including Taylor, Merrimack, and The Burches). Her nursing home patients received the benefit of her loving care and she went above and beyond, often buying or making things that she thought they would enjoy. Survived by: son, James Renn and daughter-in-Law Lara Skinner, daughter Hope Renn Gunther and son-in-Law Mark Gunther with grandsons, Calvin (14) and Teddy (12), sisters, Georgia Elchlepp and Elizabeth Edmunds
Predeceased by: parents George and Mary Edmunds and younger brother George Edmunds.
