Mary "Christine" (Cross) D'Amore

Christine D'Amore, 75, a resident of Tilton for the past 41 years, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 after a short illness. She was born in Boston, MA on December 14, 1946 the daughter of the late Richard Marshall Cross Sr. and Mary Josephine (Suozzo) Cross.

Christine was a graduate of Lesley College in Cambridge, MA, where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Education. She moved with her family to Tilton from Merrimack 41 years ago. She was a elementary school teacher at Winnisquam Regional School District for over 25 years, retiring in 2003.

She was the co-founder and past president of the Winnisquam Teacher's Association and served as a library trustee for the Hall Memorial Library. Christine was very active with the library and loved to read and play scrabble which is why she was a member of the scrabble club, the "OWLS" and the "Nooner's" book clubs. She also loved to watch Jeopardy and guess the answers and loved all animals especially birds.

Christine was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Richard M. Cross Jr.

Her family includes her husband of 51 years, Robert D'Amore of Tilton, her daughter, Robin Stulmaker and her husband Jeffrey of Menands, NY, her two sons, Matthew S. D'Amore and his wife Kelli of Deerfield, and Rico J. D'Amore and his wife Karen of New Mexico, her two grandchildren, Vincenzo "Vinnie" D'Abbraccio and his wife Emma and Melyssa Stokes and her husband Conor and her great granddaughter, Madelynn Stokes. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Cross of Shreveport, LA and her brother-in-law, Gregory D'Amore and his wife Kathleen of Charlton, MA.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, 584 West Main St. Tilton, NH 03276. Burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honor her wishes by donating to your local ASPCA in her memory.
