Belmont, NH – Mary Lee Clairmont, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on Mother’s Day, May 12th, 1946, in Laconia, NH, Mary’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and community spirit.
Mary was the devoted wife of Philip Leo Clairmont and a nurturing mother to her daughters, Michelle McGuinness and Paula Clairmont. She cherished her role as a grandmother to her four grandchildren: Devon McGuinness, Colin McGuinness, Hailey Clairmont, and Jacob Clairmont, whom she adored immensely.
Mary is survived by her loving siblings: Nathan Bickford, John Bickford, Edward Bickford, Wilbur Bickford, and Lorraine Hancock. She was preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Bernice (Drake) Bickford, whom she always held dear in her heart.
Mary dedicated her professional life to serving as a secretary at Belmont High School. Her commitment and warmth left a lasting impression on students and colleagues alike, creating an indelible legacy within the school community.
Mary had a passion for crafts, gardening, and reading, pursuits that brought joy and serenity to her life. Her talent and skill were evident in the vibrant gardens she tended and the crafts she lovingly created. She shared many of these moments with her dear friends in the "sewing circle," a group that became like extended family through the years.
