Marjorie B. (Gilman) French

Franklin Marjorie B. (Gilman) French Marjorie B. French, 88, a longtime resident of Franklin died, November 27, 2015 at Concord Hospital following a period of failing health. Marjorie was born in Tilton, September 21, 1927, daughter of Charles and Ethel (Burnham) Gilman. She and her husband Frank lived on West Bow Street in Franklin for many years. She assisted her husband with office work with his business, Vern Piper Radio and Television in Franklin over the years. For many years she was employed at the former Tilton Leather Shop in Tilton and later at Acme Staple Company in Franklin. She was a longtime golfer and joined her husband, becoming members of the Mojalaki Country Club in Franklin and later became members at the Den Brae Golf Club in Sanbornton. Marjorie loved animals, especially dogs. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Francis "Frank" J. French who died in 2008 and sister, Edwina L. Stetson who died in 2015, sister Selma R. Moniz of Manchester, NH. who died in 1974 and her brother Harland Gilman of Scituate, Mass who died in 1976. Her family includes, her brother in law, Ralph Stetson of Andover, NH, a niece, Susan Stetson of Florida, four nephews, Richard Stetson of Alaska, Mark Moniz from California, Gary Moniz and Warren Moniz of NH. According to Marjorie's wishes, there are no calling hours . A graveside service will be held, Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the family lot in Park Cemetery in Tilton where she will be buried with her husband and other members of the Gilman family. Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Marjorie's name to the Franklin Animal Shelter, P. O. Box 265, Franklin, NH, 03235-0265. Assisting with arrangements is the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton.
