It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucy May Carlson, a cherished former resident of Franklin. Lucy peacefully departed this life on Sunday, November 10th, 2024, at the graceful age of 92. Born on Saturday, February 27th, 1932, in Fairfax, Vermont, she lived a life filled with love, strength, and dedication, touching the hearts of many.
Throughout her life, Lucy was a beacon of kindness and generosity. She began her career at Sylvania Electric, then Webster Valve for over 20 years as a machine parts operator and finally serving others as a Supervisor at BJ's Wholesale Club for over 20 years, demonstrating unwavering commitment and leadership.
Lucy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack L. Carlson in 2005; her daughter, Paulette Wood; her great grandson, Tyler Metalious and her devoted parents, William H. Jameson and Beatrice M. (Miller) Clark. Her memory will be forever cherished by her surviving children: Shirley Blad of Northwood, Freddie Starkweather of Sanbornton, Laurie Macey of North Carolina, and her adopted daughter Mary Cartier of Chandler, AZ, her brother, Brad Jameson of Franklin and her sister, Verna Jameson of Palm Coast, FL.
She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Michelle Luebkert, Mark Blad, Bobbi-Jo Toth, Everett Mark Brown, Tammie Rand, Jon Wayne Bachand, Paulita, Nhap, Nhel, Rudy, and David, all of whom were immensely loved and will continue to carry her spirit forward.
Family, friends, and those whose lives Lucy touched are invited to celebrate her life at a visitation and funeral service. The visitation will be held at Smart Memorial Home in Tilton, NH, on Friday, November 22nd, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service in South Road Cemetery in Belmont.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Lucy's honor to a charity of your choice, to continue the cycle of kindness that she so passionately believed in.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Smart Memorial Home, where Lucy's memory and legacy will be honored with care and respect. May her soul rest in peace, and may her family find comfort in the love and memories she left behind.
