Louis Ottati III, affectionately known as "Sweet Lou," passed away at his home on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on April 17, 1965, in Exeter, NH, Louis was a cherished resident of Tilton, NH.
Louis was a dedicated and skilled setup and machine operator at Watts Regulator in Franklin, NH, where he contributed his expertise and camaraderie for many years. He would also clean and maintain the Tilton Car Wash. Known for his warm and friendly demeanor, he was fondly regarded as the "Dunkin King" due to his daily visits to Dunkin Donuts, where he often shared a cup of coffee and conversation with friends.
Louis had a passion for life and a love for the outdoors. He found joy in snowmobiling, fishing, and riding his motorcycle along the scenic Kancamagus Highway. An enthusiastic racing fan, Louis drove the #3 car at Norway Pines in Rumney, where he was celebrated for his competitive spirit and love of racing. He was a member of the Tow Society Bike Group and held the position of Sgt. of Arms, which will be forever memorialized in his name.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Ottati Jr., and his mother, Judy (Goss) Bartlett. Louis leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his family and friends. He is survived by his fiancée, Denise Dubord, whom he was with for 25 years, and his daughter, Jessica Marie Cushing and his son, Anthony R. Ottati. Louis is also survived by his brother, Wayne Ottati and wife Karen, sisters, Theresa Palmer and husband Mark, Wendy Lynn Hanford and her husband Josh and his adored grandchildren, Sara, Wilfred, and Patrick Cushing, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins. He will also be dearly missed by his many, many close friends.
A visitation in Louis's honor will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Smart Memorial Home, 584 West Main St. in Tilton, NH. Family, friends, and all whose lives Louis touched are invited to come together to celebrate his life on April 26, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Unitarian Universalist Church, 206 Central St. in Franklin.
