Kenneth Edward Reader

Kenneth Edward Reader - Nashua Kenneth E. Reader, 65, died February 14, 2015 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack following a period of illness. He had been a resident of Nashua for the past 25 years. Ken was born in Laconia, NH on August 12, 1949, son of the late Alfred and Mary C. (Enright) Reader. He spent his youth in Tilton, NH and was a 1967 graduate of the Tilton-Northfield High School. Following high school, Ken enlisted in the US Navy and honorably served from 1968 to 1972. He was trained as a storekeeper Class A in Newport, RI and later served on the USS Sylvania. Ken was the recipient of the Navy Unit Commendation and National Defense Medal. He was honorably discharged with the Rank of SK3. After his service, Ken went on to graduate from UNH with a Bachelor�s Degree in Business in 1974. He was employed for the majority of his many years in purchasing by both Data General and Bose Corporation. His interests included fishing, baseball, basketball, golf, and his beloved Red Sox and Patriots. He leaves behind two sons, Brian Reader and wife Nichole of North Waterboro, ME, and Daniel Reader of Dover, NH; three grandchildren Charise Reader and Baby Reader (due 3/27/15), and Acadia Reader; brother Michael Reader and wife Joyce of Merrimack, NH; sister Nancy Caveney and husband John of Spofford, NH; six nieces; as well as three cousins and their children. Calling hours are planned for Thursday, February 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main St.) in Tilton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 20th at 10 AM at the Assumption Church of St. Gabriel Parish, Chestnut St, in Tilton. Spring burial with military honors will be held in St. John Cemetery in Tilton.
