Katherine Caroline (Yankus) Young

Contoocook, New Hampshire Katherine Caroline (Yankus) Young Katherine C. Young, 82, a longtime resident of Contoocook died, Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the Newport Health Care and Rehab Center in Newport, Vermont. She and her husband lived in Contoocook for over twenty years before moving to Newport ten years ago. She was born in Worcester, MA, January 25, 1934, daughter of George and Emily (Banis) Yankus. Katherine was a parishioner of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport, VT. She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Young and a daughter, Judith Pelleteri. She leaves, sons, James Young and his wife, Kathy of Port St. Lucie, FL, David Young and his wife, Diane of Matthews, North Carolina daughters, Joyce Gooding of Gilford, Patricia Young of Newport, VT, Janice Poisdorf of Savannah, Georgia, and Christine Thomas of Lancaster, Pennsylvania Numerous grand and great-grandchildren She also leaves two sisters, Cynthia and Pauline There are no calling hours planned. A funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Katherine's life, Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Church of St. Gabriel Parish, School Street Franklin, NH. Burial will follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 D. W. Highway in Boscawen, NH where she will rest with her husband James.
