Judith Caswell

March 28, 1940 — March 16, 2025

Judith “Judie” Ann (Stephenson) Caswell of Belmont, NH passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 16, at the age of 84. Judie was originally from Marblehead, MA, where she met her beloved husband, Tom, and together they raised a wonderful family. Judie was known for her immense love and generosity, always spoiling her children, their partners, and friends whenever she had the chance.
Judie had a passion for crafts of all kinds and enjoyed attending craft fairs. She was an avid sewer and worked for Marsha Inc. in Marblehead for many years until her retirement. Judie also had a talent for making ceramics and macramé. Her love for sports was evident as she was a devoted fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins, and Buckeyes. An animal lover, Judie had a special affinity for black bears, cats, dogs, and birds, always ensuring that her children and their pets were well taken care of.
Judie and Tom cherished their time together, often embarking on motorcycle adventures and spending many years camping in Franklin, NH, before deciding to move to New Hampshire permanently upon retirement.
Judie was joyfully greeted into Heaven by her parents, Frank and Dorothy Stephenson, her brother Roger Stephenson, her son Andrew Caswell, her daughter Eliza Caswell, and Eliza’s lifelong boyfriend Peter Sengers, and her daughter-in-law Ellie Caswell.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Howard T. Caswell Jr., her son Howard T. Caswell III, her daughter-in-law Carol (Caswell) Bauer, and her granddaughter by adoption, Judith Elizabeth-Sweetlyn Bauer.
Judie was loved by so many because she loved so freely. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in the songs of the birds and in the visits of cardinals or stray cats at the door. In lieu of services, the family kindly requests that donations be made to any animal rescue or wildlife rehabilitation agency in Judie’s memory.
