Life Legacy Tilton John C. Richmond John C. Richmond, 91, husband of Florence Richmond of Tilton, NH passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013. John (known lovingly as �Jack� by many) was the son of Mary Budd and Arthur A. Richmond, Jr. and grew up in South Orange, NJ. He graduated from Blair Academy and began studies at Williams College, soon leaving to serve his country in WWII as a Sixth Division Marine. After 3 � years in the Pacific Theater, he returned home and joined the family manufacturing business, Richmond Brothers, Inc., where he remained until the Korean War during which he served as an artillery instructor. After the war, he returned to work at Richmond Brothers eventually becoming the company president; however, his ultimate calling urged him on and, after many hard years at night school, he earned an advanced degree in Mathematics from Rutgers University. He then began a rewarding career at teaching and coaching. Jack ended his formal teaching days after many years at the Tilton School where he taught Math, coached many athletic teams, and served as Director of Athletics. After retiring from Tilton, he and Florence were proud to serve as in-class "grand-parents" in the Tilton public school system. Jack is survived by his wife, Florence; children from his first marriage, Michael, Linda, Sally, Janis, and Cindy; his stepchildren, Linda and Robert; many beloved grandchildren; a few great-grands; and his older brother Arthur A. Richmond III. His teaching legacy is carried forth with joy by many that are mentioned here. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday October 11, 2013 at 2:30 pm in the Fred Smart Chapel at the Tilton School, 30 School Street, Tilton, New Hampshire.
