Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John "Jack" P. Mahoney, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on August 21, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on March 10, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts, John's warmth and charisma touched all who knew him.

A devoted family man, John is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Donna Mahoney; his son, James Dupell Jr.; his daughter, Christine Vosolo; and his cherished grandchildren, Christian and Ashley Vosolo. John's love for his family was evident in every conversation, every gathering, and every cherished memory he created with them.

John dedicated much of his life to serving the community with the United States Post Office in many compacities, where he enjoyed connecting with others and fostering relationships that crossed all boundaries. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force serving from April 25, 1966 until November 6, 1969, he demonstrated the values of dedication and service that defined his character.

Beyond his career, John was known for his passion for cars, music, and food. He possessed an extensive collection of record players, which epitomized his love of music, often performing DJ work at local events and gatherings. Known as a true people person, John could effortlessly strike up a conversation with anyone, making friends wherever he went. His vivacious spirit and zest for life will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held at Smart Memorial Home, 584 West Main St., Tilton on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by John are invited to gather and pay tribute to a remarkable man who cherished connection and joy.

Jack will be interred with military honors at a later date in Milton Cemetery in Milton, MA.
