John �Ron� Hamilton, 68 of Franklin, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Genesis Mountain Ridge Center following a period of failing health. Ron was born on May 12, 1948, son of the late John and Jeannette (Emond) Hamilton. He spent his youth in Newmarket and attended Newmarket High School. He later enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. Ron worked for many years as an auto body master craftsman, restoring classic antique cars. He spent most of his life in the Seacoast area, residing in Newmarket, Exeter and Hampton Beach. He wintered in Davenport Florida for many years before moving to Franklin in 2011. Ron enjoyed traveling in his RV, campfires in the evening, fishing and other outdoor activities. He especially loved his two Yorkies. He will be greatly missed for his wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his sister, Pauline Riley of Fallbrook, CA, nephew Aiden Riley, niece Allison Riley, and his long-time companion, Diane Viel of Northfield, NH. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Jennifer Stevens, Director of Admissions at Mountain Ridge Center, and to Shelly and all of Ron�s caregivers for their loving, compassionate care in his final years. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on October 8, 2016 at 10:30 am at the family lot in Calvary Cemetery in Newmarket, NH followed by a reception at the Newmarket Senior Center. Family and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Memorial Home of Tilton. Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Ron�s name to the New Hampshire SPCA.
