Joan Ann (Collins) Hodgdon

Franklin Joan Ann (Collins) Hodgdon Joan A. Hodgdon, 79, a lifelong resident of Franklin died, December 24, 2016 at the Concord Hospital in Concord following a period of failing health. Joan was born in Laconia, January 21, 1937, daughter of the late, James J. Collins who died in 1989 and Yvonne A. (Seren) Collins who died in 1994. Joan was schooled in Franklin and was a member of Franklin High School, class of 1954. For several years, Joan was employed at the Cormier Industries and the Arwood Corporation, retiring in 1991. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her first husband, Aime St. Cyr in 1976, her second husband, James C. Hodgdon in 2006 and her sister, Constance (Collins) Granger who died in 2014. She leaves, daughters, Deborah (St. Cyr) Foy and husband Charles of Tilton and Kathy Thibaudeau of Manchester and son, Kenneth St. Cyr and his wife Scarlett of Boca Roton, FL. her sister, Kathleen Bateson-Carlson of Laconia and husband Donald; Joan also leaves, grandchildren, Ethan Thibaudeau of Dover, NH, Katie Thibaudeau of Manchester, Mack Hodgdon and Torie Hodgdon, both of East Long Meadow, MA nephews and nieces, Adam Bateson and wife Nicole and grandniece, Quinn of Lyman, ME James Granger and his wife, Bonnie of Easley, SC Ellen (Granger) Coffin and husband, Wayne of Yorktown, VA�Suzanne (Granger) Lamphere and husband Stan of Kissimmie, FL William Granger and wife, Annette of Springfield, NH and several grand nieces and nephews. Joan was a friend to many and always willing to help others. Her concern for family and any one who she could help either with prayer, financial or good home baked cookies made her very happy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Following the wishes of Joan, there are no calling hours planned. A Mass to celebrate her life was�held Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 A. M. at St. Paul Church of St. Gabriel Parish, School St. in Franklin. Spring burial will be in the Collins lot at Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Assisting the family with arrangements is the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton. Rather than flowers, Joan's request would be; those wishing may make memorial contributions in her name to either the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire, 814 Elm Street, Suite 300, Manchester, NH 03101 or to the Edna Mckenna Fund, Merrimack County Nursing Home, 325 D. W. Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303. Joan's extended family wishes to thank the staff and doctors on 5 North at Concord Hospital for the professional care given to Joan. Also to Debbie and Charlie for the excellent care and devotion to Joan.
