Jo-Ann Elizabeth (Lyons) Nolan

Jo-Ann E. Nolan was born into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on April 7, 2022, after a hard fight and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Jo-Ann was born in Boston, MA on May 15, 1962 to Joan (Anderson) Lyons. She grew up in Medford, MA and graduated from Medford High School in 1979. Jo-Ann then attended Carnegie Institute Beacon Hill in Boston and graduated in 1982.

Jo-Ann married the love of her life Michael in 1985, whom they just celebrated 37 years of marriage. After marrying, they moved to Virginia where they set up home for 5 years. They then moved to Tilton, NH, then to Sanbornton, NH where they set up their permanent home and raised their children.

Jo-Ann and Michael shared their love of travel with their children, making trips to Ireland, Italy, Hawaii and their ultimate favorite Cape Cod and the National Sea Shore.

Jo-Ann was the mother of 3 exceptional children and 4 grandchildren. She was a stay at home mom until her youngest went into 1st grade, upon this time Jo-Ann started her schooling in Nursing. Jo-Ann attended NHTI and graduated in 1997 as a Registered Nurse.

Jo-Ann became a dedicated, caring and compassionate Nurse for 22 years at Lakes Regional General Hospital and then the Laconia Clinic until her diagnosis.

Jo-Ann is survived by her husband and best friend of 41 years, Michael, her son Ryan (Jen), daughters, Colleen Thurston (Jon), and Katherine Brown (Ryan). Her pride and joy grandchildren, Jillian, Aubrey and Daniel Brown and Murphy Nolan. Her brothers, Jackie Lyons, Paul Lyons (Beth) and Stephen Lyons. Her brother-in-law, Roger Shepard, mother-in-law, Rose Nolan and sister-in-law, Joanne Nolan and nieces and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Joan Lyons, sister of the late Jeannette Shepard and daughter-in-law of the late Francis Nolan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Jo-Ann's memory be made to the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation for the next person to be that dedicated caring compassionate Nurse or make a blood/platelet donation to the Red Cross.
