Jane Crichton Brown
May 11, 1950 - August 4, 2026
Jane was the youngest of three daughters born to Mary Remington Elliot of Andover, Massachusetts, and Dr. John Crichton Brown, originally of Danville, Quebec.

Jane was born on May 11, 1950, and grew up in Andover, Massachusetts where she attended local schools, and Hill, New Hampshire where her parents purchased the Guy Noyes farm on Cass Mill Road in 1949.

She attended Abbot Academy, graduating with athletic honors in 1968. That Fall, she matriculated in Sociology and Religion at Syracuse University. A member of the famed "Nottingham Nation" during the student strike in 1970, she was instrumental in many academic, athletic and social activities. While there, she met her husband Frank Simeone of Chicago, Illinois. They married in Andover in 1974 and had two children: Anne Elliot and John Crichton.

Jane next attended Teachers College of Columbia University, graduating in 1976 with a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She practiced Speech and Language Pathology while raising her family in Stony Point, New York. Many, many children and their families benefited from her skills and dedication. She also taught Anatomy and Physiology of Speech at Iona College.

Jane was an ardent knitter and a member of the New Hampshire Weavers Guild. She was an accomplished soprano and sang in several chorale groups. She loved gardening and spending time with friends and family, often on hikes in the Hudson Highlands. She treasured time spent at Wellington State Park on Newfound Lake.

She was predeceased by her sister Margaret. She is survived by her sister Helen, her husband Frank, her daughter Annie (Armando Molares), her son John (Erika Knight), grandson Leo Chapman Simeone, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be a memorial gathering in the Fall. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Cancer Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital or Memorial Sloan Kettering.
