Helen Martha (Mellonakos) Witzgall

Northfield, NH Helen Martha (Mellonakos)Witzgall Helen M. Witzgall, 89, a resident of Northfield died at her home Thursday, September 11, 2014 following a decline in health. Helen was born in Dracut, MA, March 29, 1925, daughter of George and Martha (Kousteleris) Mellonakos. Prior to moving to Northfield in 2010 she and her late husband resided in Lawrence, MA since 1948. She was homemaker, devoted mother and grandmother. She worked as a factory worker and nurse during, and just after WW II, prior to her marriage in 1948. Following her husband's retirement as a general contractor for 49 years, they traveled extensively in Europe, the United States and Canada. She enjoyed the family cottage in Dennisport, MA, making it the family getaway until her health prevented doing so. She was predeceased by brothers, William and Charles, a sister Frances and her husband, Walter Conrad Witzgall who died in 2013. She leaves, Sons, Michael Witzgall and his wife Holly of Northfield Paul Witzgall of Dennisport, MA Four grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Jennifer and Sarah Witzgall Two step grandchildren, Patrick Riutta and Michael Silvestri Nieces and nephews Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 13th�from 5:00 to 7:00 P. M. at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main St.) Tilton, NH. Burial will be at a later date in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
