Franklin Harriet R. Kropp Harriet R. Kropp, 95, a longtime resident of Franklin, died peacefully at her home, Friday, May 13, 2016 following a long illness. Harriet was born in Meredith, April 30, 1921, daughter of Thomas B. Rider and Harriett (Widmeyer) Rider. Harriet lived in Tilton for many years before moving to Franklin in 1948. She graduated from Tilton School. For many years she was the office nurse for Dr. Archie Grevior, M.D. in Tilton. Harriet loved animals and especially enjoyed Morgan horses, breeding, showing and selling them. She enjoyed arts and crafts, often redecorating with her artistic abilities. Harriet was an avid skier and traveled as often as she could. She was predeceased by a sister, Marsy H. Rider in 1983. Harriet was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Frank J. Kropp, M.D. who died in 2001. Her family includes her son, Jeffrey R. Kropp and his wife Emily of Canaan, her daughter, Heide Riess and her husband Peter of Lyme, and two granddaughters, Phukette Jennings of Shelburne, VT. and Tasman Rubel of Morristown, NJ. According to Harriet's wishes, there are no calling hours or public services planned. The William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton is assisting with arrangements.
