Grace Ellen (Ew) Read

Northfield Grace Ellen (Drew) Read Grace E. Read, 88, a long time resident of Northfield died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Mountain Ridge Genesis Center in Franklin after a long illness. Grace was born in Loudon, NH, September 20, 1925, daughter of Charles and Bessie (Abbott) Drew. She graduated from Tilton School. She moved to Northfield in the 1940's following her marriage to Raymond C. Read. For many years she was employed at the Mica Shop in Franklin. She had been a longtime member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Tilton and sang in the choir. Grace had a great fondness for animals. In addition to her husband Raymond she was predeceased by her sister, Clara B. Chandonnait and brothers, Russell H. Drew Sr. and Frank Abbott Jr. . Her family includes, Two sisters, Jean Wadleigh of Tilton Marion Scott of Salisbury Numerous nieces and nephews According to her wishes, there are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 2:00 P. M. at Park Cemetery in Tilton. Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton.
