Ellen Louise (Young) Osborne


Ellen L. Osborne, 87, a resident of East Andover since 1960, passed away peacefully at The Birches of Concord after a short illness. She was born in Lynn, MA on July 14, 1933, the daughter of the late Leonard Young Sr. and Harriette (Wright) Young. Ellen grew up in Hanover, MA, and lived in Halifax, MA, before moving to the family farm in East Andover.

While raising her family, she could always be found tending to her many greenhouses or running Hillside Orchard farm stand, where she was eager to share her gardening secrets and a good story.

She was predeceased by her sister, Harriette Hayes. Her family includes her husband of 68 years Gordon "Ozzie" Osborne Sr., her daughters; Dawn Beauchesne, and her husband Mark of Penacook, and Marion Osborne of Fort Myers, FL , her son; Gordon "Rick" Osborne Jr., and his fiancé Allison Barry of Andover. She leaves two grandchildren; Gregory Gosselin and his wife Kelly of Burke, VA, and Amanda von Hagn and her husband Christopher of Nashua, as well as her three great-grandchildren; Riley and Liam Gosselin, and Isaiah von Hagn, and also by her brother, Leonard Young Jr. and his wife Rosemary of Palmyra, ME.

There will be no services at this time; a private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
