Edith Mary Simpson

Edith (Sue) Mary Simpson, 75, of Franklin, NH, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at Laconia Hospital. Born in Lancaster, NH, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Simpson and Stella (Morrill) Simpson. Sue was a longtime member of the Congregational Church in Franklin and dedicated her time to helping others, especially through her volunteer work at the Bread and Roses Soup Kitchen in Franklin. Sue is survived by her children, Michael and Wendi McBey of Franklin; her grandsons, Joseph and Andrew Sullivan; and five siblings: Arthur “Skip” Simpson, William Simpson, Arlene Young, Kathy Gaudette, and Debra Simpson. She was predeceased by her brothers Jon Simpson and Robert Simpson. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Smart Memorial Home in Tilton, NH. Burial will follow at Franklin Cemetery, with a luncheon afterward at the American Legion in Northfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Franklin Visiting Nurse Association (VNA).
