Donald M. Grahame, 88, of Franklin, died Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Mountain Ridge Center in Franklin, New Hampshire after a two month illness. He was born in Utica, NY on July 22, 1926. After he graduated from high school he enlisted in the US Navy during World War II where he served aboard the cruiser USS Montpelier as an electrician third class. While serving in the war, his ship saw action in battles at Okinawa, Iwo Jima, and Hiroshima, Japan. After the war he married Harriet Emery and had two children. He worked as a commercial loan officer and president of several banks including Security Trust Co. of Rochester, NY, the Bank of New York of Buffalo, NY, the Indian Head National Bank of Exeter, NH, and the Belknap Bank and Trust Company of Belmont, NH. He was an avid golfer and loved to visit with his friends at McDonald�s in Franklin, NH and reading his newspapers every day in retirement. He was predeceased by his grandfather and grandmother Oliver and Helen Les Corbeau; his father and mother Harold and Vernetta Grahame; and his daughter Carole Grahame Wemett. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Susan Grahame of Endwell, NY; by his grandsons Darren Grahame of Memphis, TN, and Kyle Grahame of Endwell, NY, and Brian, Michael, and Steven Wemett of Rochester, NY; as well as his great grandchildren, Cloe and Kiya Wemett and Steven Wemett, Jr. A private ceremony will be held at New Forest Cemetery in Utica, N.Y. Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton, NH.
