Derek S Hunt

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Derek S. Hunt, a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Derek, aged 52, of Tilton, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully after a long battle with ALS on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on a chilly Thursday, February 24, 1972, Derek moved to Tilton, New Hampshire, where he spent many happy years contributing to his community and raising his family. A devoted truck driver, Derek was employed by Benson Lumber, where his colleagues remember him as a hardworking and dedicated team member. Derek's passion for football was unparalleled, whether it was playing, watching, or coaching. He served as an assistant coach at Winnisquam Regional High School from 2008 to 2018, and as head coach from 2018 to 2020. His leadership led the team to an unforgettable undefeated season in 2019 and he also had the honor of coaching the NH vs VT Shriners Maple Sugar Bowl game.
