Obituary

It is with great joy and fond remembrance that we celebrate the life of David Joseph Landry, who was born on January 7, 1949, in Laconia, New Hampshire, and peacefully passed away at his home on September 2, 2026, in Sun City Center, Florida. David lived a life rich in service, love, and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

David's journey began at an early age in the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire, where he developed a deep-seated appreciation for nature and the outdoors. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and later transitioned to the New Hampshire Air National Guard, where he honed his skills and commitment to public service. For many years, David served in law enforcement, dedicating his career to the local police departments for 32 years, including Tilton and Laconia. Following his retirement he continued his career with the State of NH in Marine Patrol. His sense of duty and respect for the law made a significant impact on the communities he served.

David was known for his loving spirit, quick wit, and his love of working outdoors or enjoying a good cigar. He cherished his role as a husband to his beloved wife of 50 years, Betty (Durand) Landry, who stood by his side in all of life's adventures. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared memories. David also leaves behind a family that includes his two daughters; Jessica Adams and Jennifer McCrea and her husband Brent, his 4 grandchildren; Conner Lyford, Amber Knox, Ashlee Knox and Kyle Adams. He is also survived by his siblings; John, Joseph, Thomas, Timothy, James, Frank, Mary and Anne and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Frances (Hopkins) Landry.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Smart Memorial Home, 584 W. Main St., Tilton. Burial with military honors will be held in the chapel at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen on Monday, September 14, 2026 at 1:30 PM.
