Catherine Marie (Callanan) Thomas

Tilton Catherine "Kay" Marie (Callanan) Thomas Catherine "Kay" M. Thomas, 88, of Tilton, died suddenly Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia following a long period of failing health. Kay was born in Boston, MA, March 5,1928,daughter of the late, Henry F. and Elizabeth (Gillis) Callanan. Following High School, Kay attended Business College. She had resided in Farmington for three years, moving to Franklin in 1972 and later to Tilton in 1983. She was employed for over 20 years as an accountant with the New Hampshire Sweepstakes Commission in Concord prior to her retirement. Kay was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle and a brother, James Callanan. Kay's husband, Frederick E. Thomas died in 1999. Her family includes, her children, Joan Comeau of Union, NH, Mary Sherman of Newport, RI, Kathleen Henry of Rochester, NH, Alan Comeau and Sandra Phillips, both of Belmont, NH nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. a sister, Betsy Donovan�and her husband Tom; sister in law, Marie Callanan, all from Massachusetts. Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at the William F.Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main Street) in Tilton,�NH. A prayer service will follow the hours at 1:00 PM at the memorial home. Due to the conditions at the cemetery, burial will not take place following the service. Burial will be at a later date when the conditions allow�at Franklin Cemetery, Thompson Park, in Franklin, NH.
