Candace Jane (Emerson) Vandell

Franklin Candace Jane (Emerson) Vandell Candace Jane Vandell, 54, a longtime resident of Franklin died at home, August 28, 2015 following a courageous battle with cancer. Her family, who had given much support was at her side. Candace was born in Laconia, January 17, 1961, daughter of Francis and Maryjane (Douval) Emerson. She spent her youth and schooled in the Tilton-Northfield areas. For several years she worked in the deli and meat departments at Hannaford's and Wal-Mart in Tilton. She spent many hours crocheting and most every family member and friend has an afghan made by Candace. She enjoyed babysitting over the years. Her family was able to fulfill a dream and was able to take Candace to Walt Disney World in Florida before her death. Candace was predeceased by her parents. She leaves, her son, Michael E. Nowell and his wife Kelly Ann of Franklin, an estranged daughter, Amber Lee Smock and seven grandchildren; sisters, Crystal J. Pelletier and her husband Alan of Franklin, Maylene Conckey of Florida and Patrice Noyes of Franklin; brothers, Dennis Emerson of Tilton and Gerald Douville of Franklin. Numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves her best friend, and companion, Ronald Vandell. Respecting the wishes of Candace, no calling hours are planned. A private celebration of her life, and burial , will be held for Candace at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton. Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Candace's name to the Franklin Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 75 Chestnut St., Franklin, NH 03235.
