Barbara N. (Higgins) Wellington

Plymouth Barbara N. (Higgins) Wellington Barbara N. Wellington, 78, a resident of Plymouth for the past four and one half years, died, Saturday, August 8, 2015 following a period of declining health. She was born in Mount Vernon, Maine on June 22, 1937, daughter of the late, Ray Hall Higgins and Marion (Searles) Higgins. Prior to her move to Plymouth she had resided in Concord and Northfield for several years. Barbara enjoyed her employment in housekeeping and as a nurses aid over the years, retiring from the St. Francis Home in Laconia. She had a great fondest for animals, especially dogs. Barbara enjoyed swimming with friends in Gilford each week for exercise and rehab. She and her children enjoyed their many summer trips to the Pemaquid Light House and Maine seacoast. Barbara was a longtime active member of the Tilton-Northfield United Methodist Church in Tilton and also attended the Plymouth Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her first husband, James Rogan and second husband, Robert Wellington. She leaves, three sons, Christopher J. Rogan and his wife, Marie of Plymouth Owen Wellington and his wife, Eilene of Northfield Jonathan E. Rogan of Northfield a daughter, Jennifer Handley and her husband, William of Chandler, AZ six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren According to Barbara's wishes, there are no calling hours planned. A prayer service will be held, Thursday, August 13, 2015, promptly at 11:00 AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 D. W. Highway in Boscawen with burial following. Prayers will be offered by family friend, Diane Randall of Northfield. A gathering with refreshments will follow to celebrate Barbara's life at the Tilton-Northfield United Methodist Church , West Main St in Tilton. Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's name to the New Hampshire Humane Society, P. O. Box 572, Laconia,NH 03247.
