Arthur Stone Woodman of Londonderry died on December 28, 2023 at the Elliot Hospital.
A son of Clarence John and Marion Alice (Stone) Woodman, Arthur was born at home on June 10, 1926 in Sanbornton, NH. He attended Laconia Business College and enjoyed a long career in banking, which included positions at Laconia Savings Bank, Keene Savings Bank, Seabrook Bank, and Plaistow Bank and Trust. A career highlight was serving as the first president of Londonderry Bank and Trust from 1972-1978.
On June 19, 1948, Arthur married Rosemary Jackson, and together they had three children. He was an active member of the Congregational churches in Laconia and Keene, as well as president of the Keene Kiwanis Club.
During his retirement, Arthur was an avid gardener. His interests included farming, small machines, finance, and business.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents, brother Alfred, wife Rosemary, and daughter Ellen. He leaves behind his sons Eric (Lynne) and David, as well as his grandchildren Susan, Margaret, Amanda, Amelia, Justin, James (Felicia), Justin (Krystle), and Jeremy (Dreonna).
Extended family includes fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Smart Memorial Home in Tilton, NH, is handling the arrangements. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
