Franklin Arlene Edna (Davis) Tilton Arlene E. Tilton, 92, a resident of Franklin for most of her life, died Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen following a short period of failing health. Arlene was born in Franklin, January 3, 1924, daughter of Irving and Edna (Shepherd) Davis. She attended schools in Franklin and was a graduate of Franklin High School. Arlene was a loving wife, parent, grandparent, and homemaker. She was a long time volunteer, including working at the polls in Franklin, was involved with the Red Cross blood bank. While traveling with her husband throughout his military career, she was very involved in the officers' wives club. Arlene was a parishioner of St. Paul Church of St. Gabriel Parish in Franklin where she had served as Eucharistic Minister over the years She was predeceased by her husband , Lt. Col. Ralph E. Tilton Sr, U. S Air Force, Retired, who died in 1996, her sister Ruth Lacasse and her brother Richard Davis. Her family includes, Her son, Ralph E. Tilton Jr. of Northfield Her daughter, Cheryl A. Emerson and her husband, Richard of Franklin Grandchildren, Arlene Kendall, Elizabeth Tilton, Katherine Tilton, Craig Emerson, Curtis Emerson and Amie Dodson Great-grandchildren, Andre, Sebastian, Alex, Timmy, Emily, Logan, Ella and Eva Nieces and nephews Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main St.) in Tilton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Church of St. Gabriel Parish in Franklin. Burial will follow the Mass, next to her husband, Ralph in Franklin Cemetery in Franklin. Those wishing, may make memorial contributions in Arlene's name to the Edna C. McKenna Trust Fund, Merrimack County Nursing Home, C/O Mary Heath, 325 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303 or to the CRVNA Hospice, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, NH 03301.
