Franklin Annie L. (Dubia) Manning Annie L. Manning, 95, a longtime resident of the Northfield-Tilton areas, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 following a period of failing health. Annie was born in Franklin, NH, on February 10, 1922, the daughter of Frank and Annie (Weeks) Dubia. Her family also included four brothers, now deceased: Norbert, Otis, Richard and Arthur, and one sister, Gertrude Jocelyn who resides in the Franklin area. Following Annie's marriage to Gilbert J. Manning II, she moved to Tilton, NH, living for many years on Sanborn Road. She and Gilbert had one daughter, Lana, and one son, Gilbert III. As a homemaker, her daily schedule included maintaining a busy household, though she always found time for her favorite activities of cooking, sewing and gardening. One of her special pursuits was painting. She produced many beautiful landscapes and once took classes with the well-known local artist, Loran Percy. In later years, her interests included quilt making and other needlework crafts. She enjoyed creating special gifts for members of her family. Annie's family members include: daughter, Lana J. Manning Wrzesinski and her husband Michael Wrzesinski of Franklin; son, Gilbert J. Manning III of Hill; grandson, Dana Manning of Hill; grandson, Gilbert J. Manning IV, his wife Sharlee and great-grandchildren, Gilbert J. Manning V and Elizabeth Manning of Tilton. Calling hours and a brief prayer service will be held Saturday, December 16 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 W. Main St.) Tilton, NH. Following the service, her daughter Lana and her husband, Michael will open their home to family and friends for light refreshments and the sharing of memories. Their address is Mtn. View Estates, 13 Eagle Nest Dr., Franklin, NH. Burial will be held later in the spring at the Park Cemetery in Tilton where the family will gather for her interment beside her husband, Gilbert. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Annie L. Manning may be made to the Franklin Animal Shelter, P. O. Box 265, Franklin, NH 03235-0265.
