Franklin John H. Fuller John Fuller, 93, a longtime resident of Franklin passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at home where he was living with his son and daughter-in-law, Kathy. He is survived by his son David Fuller (wife Kathy) and his daughter Susie Pope, (husband-Brian), 4 grandchildren; Wendy Beaudet (husband-Robert) of Franklin, Richard Fuller of Franklin, Sara Johnson (husband-Craig) of Concord, Kenneth Pope (wife-Heidi) of Franklin, and his 7 great grandchildren; Theodore, John, and Elizabeth Beaudet, Cody and Carly Fuller, and Ian and Tucker Pope. John was born in Natick, MA on September 12, 1921 to the parents of Mary (Tuckerman) and Sears Fuller. When he was a little boy his parents divorced and he and his brother Clark moved into The Home for Little Wanderers. It was his job to walk miles to the school house where he had to feed the foxes, and light the fire to warm up the classroom. His father and second wife Katherine brought him to Franklin when they bought and managed The Gateway Inn in West Franklin. John entered Franklin High School. He worked at Guay�s garage on Central St. as a mechanic while he attended high school, then at John�s Mansville, in Tilton NH. He was then hired as general manager of Prescott Oil and was known to be able to fix or repair anything. Often times when short of help, he could even be seen delivering oil in the worst of snow storms. He married his high school sweetheart, Helen Thibodeau, when they were both serving in the Navy during WWII. They were married for 68 years before she passed away on 1/11/11. John served on the USS Philadelphia. In 2014 he received a tribute to his 62 year membership as a Mason. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Franklin Savings Bank, President of the Rotary Club, and a member of the Franklin Outing Club. He was both a member and President of the Board of Trustees at the Franklin Regional Hospital. He was a Mason and longtime member of the Meridian Lodge # 60 in Franklin. His hobby was rebuilding and restoring Model A Fords. At one time John, son David, and daughter Susie each owned a yellow and black Model A Ford and could be seen driving them in local parades. His last Model A is still preserved and running in Franklin NH, and is owned by his grandson. John took special interest in following the baseball achievements of his 5 oldest great grandchildren. In 2013 John and his son David attended the Honor Flight in Washington where he was honored as a WWII veteran. John�s graveside committal service by members of the Meridian Masonic Lodge #60, F & AM of Franklin will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 D. W. Highway in Boscawen with military honors, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 10:30 AM. He will be buried with his wife, Helen. In lieu of flowers, any donation to the Veterans Memorial Ski Area, c/o Franklin Outing Club, 200 Prospect St. Franklin NH, 03235, would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton.
