Richard Paul Paquette

Richard Paul Paquette Franklin, NH R. Paul Paquette, 84, passed away peacefully in Boscawen, NH at the Merrimack County Nursing Home on May 13, 2015. He was one of thirteen children of the late Ernest J. and Rhenda B. (Lucier) Paquette. Mr. Paquette was born September 26, 1930 in Laconia, NH and attended the Ashland, NH schools, graduating from Ashland High School. He was a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps and worked various jobs following his discharge. He attended The New England Institute of Anatomy, Sanitary Science, Embalming and Funeral Directing and graduated in 1967. Mr. Paquette owned the R. Paul Paquette Funeral Home for many years and simultaneously owned and operated a private ambulance service. Following the sale of the funeral home he worked for Tasker Funeral Home in Berwick, ME and then Waters Funeral Home in Concord. He was active in the Knights of Columbus and the Rotary Club. Mr. Paquette is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jean R. (Laughy) Sleeper-Paquette of Franklin, NH, and his five children: Sharon Paquette and partner Eric Shirey of Franklin, Rose-Marie Welch and husband Steve of Northfield, Lee Ann Paquette and husband Bruce Bailey of Cambridge, NY, Richard Paquette II and wife Tracey of Tilton, and Ren� Paquette and husband Douglas Priest of Concord, one step son Raymond Sleeper and wife Laura of Tilton. Mr. Paquette�s grandchildren include: Devon Morrill, Arthur Drewes, Kimberly Welch, Stacey Welch, Richard Paquette III, Warrant Officer Ian Paquette, Kerissa Paquette, Rebecca Paquette, Cameron Priest, Ian Sleeper, Abigael Sleeper, and Aidan Sleeper. He also has seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife Annette Paquette, Tilton, NH, brothers Joseph R. Paquette, Cordele, GA, F. Andr� Paquette, Laconia, NH, Raymond M. R. Paquette and wife Dorothy, Hebron, CT, Ernest Paquette, Ashland, NH; two sisters Lorette Thibeault and Paula Paquette, both of Franklin, NH.; sisters-in-laws Celine Larochelle of Manchester, NH and Alice Paquette of Sanford, ME, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Paquette was predeceased by three sisters Helene Brousseau, Ann Larochelle, Marie Julie Paquette, and three brothers Bernard A. Paquette, Robert W. Paquette, and Rene Paquette. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. Memorial donations in memory of Paul may be made to the Franklin VNA and Hospice at 75 Chestnut St., Franklin, NH 03235. The William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton is in charge of arrangements.
